Making A Difference

Building Independent Successful Students is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The work we do at our Non-Profit Organization is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving some of our society’s biggest challenges. We make sure our partners are empowered by creating opportunities for individuals and communities.

Mentoring

Helping The Community

At Building Independent Successful Students, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Our mentoring program aides a multitude of families, such as foster care, single parent or single family homes with care from qualified consistent adults. The mentors are trained to listen, support and guide each child thru age-appropriate experiences in life and decision making. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Sports Recruitment Assistance Program

Reinforcing our Commitment

Building Independent Successful offers recruiting assistance to families that are unaware of the grueling process that can often be confusing and stressful. We are constantly communicating with NCAA, NJCAA, NAIA and Preparatory schools across the United States to assist with placement for the student-athletes. The program will gather city and region information as well as academic information, footage of training sessions and games, evaluate the level of play and assist with recruiting and official visits.

Job Placement Assistance Program

One Step at a Time

Building Independent Successful offers job placement assistance to student-athletes looking for summer employment, and others looking to transition into another career path. Many student-athletes have the drive to succeed in the workforce, but sometimes need the support system and opportunity to showcase their abilities.  Through our program we can assist with resume building, the interview process, and a connection to our local businesses that are partnered with B.I.S.S.

Teen Work Prep

Learning Money Management

At Building Independent Successful Students, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing life issues. Teen work prep is a program that informs the teens the responsibilities of adults. Each teen will have a different job description, so their school hours will represent a paid work day. The teens must manage their weekly salaries. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

SAT & ACT Prep Courses

One of the most important parts of the college preparation process is selecting the schools. ACT or SAT prep classes help monitor students’ progress and gauge what score students can reach. Good scores are necessary in order to be competitive in admissions. We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our partners are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it.

Professional Career Transition Program

This program is designated primarily for college students, which are attempting to transition in the public work force. Most students have almost everything to offer corporations such as motivation, teamwork and the ability to stay on task, but are not conditioned for the longer required work hours. This program offers a series of methods to help with this adjustment, and we are inviting you to learn more.
